The collection consists of a flyer for an event sponsored by the MSU Young Socialist Club. The event was called "Revolutionary Socialism Past, Present and Future." The speakers were Robert Himmel and Harriet Talan.

Biographical/Historical
The Young Socialist Club at Michigan State University was awarded its first charter by student government in April, 1959. The purpose of the club was to "foster and encourage the study of socialism." The group was opposed by veterans and ROTC groups and had difficulty finding a faculty advisor. (Source: Newspapers.com/Lansing State Journal, April 9, 1959)
