Humanities Teaching Institute records
Scope and Contents
The records of the Humanities Teaching Institute includes correspondence from three different directors of the institute, ranging from 1963 to 1976. Also included are reports from the institute on the subject of humanities education. The collection also contains annual reports with information on projects, staff, research, and faculty activities. The 1969 report contains two brochures: "Conference on the Humanities in Michigan Schools" and "EPDA Institute Humanities in Foreign Language: French."

Historical Note
The Humanities Teaching Institute was established jointly by the College of Education and the College of Arts and Letters in 1964 for the purpose of assisting in the improvement of teacher training programs in the humanities. It was discontinued in 1976.
