Biographical Note
John Schwille earned his B.A. in History in 1963 from Harvard University and his Ph.D. in Comparative Sociology and Politics of Education in 1975 from the University of Chicago.
Schwille came to Michigan State University in 1977 as an associate professor in the College of Education and became a professor in 1982. He served as the assistant dean for international studies in the College of Education from 1984 until his retirement in 2013.
