Historical Note

The Center for Integrative Studies in the Arts and Humanities was established in 1989. The Center works cooperatively with faculty and departments in the College of Arts and Letters, the College of Social Science, specifically the Department of History, and the College of Music to deliver the arts and humanities component of Michigan State University's Integrative Studies Program. Directors of the Center include Alan Fisher (PhD, Columbia University) 1989-1997; Ken Waltzer (PhD, Harvard University) 1997-2004; Kathleen Geissler (PhD, University of Southern California) Acting, 2005-2007; Rocio Quispe-Agnoli (PhD, Brown University) 2007-2010; Kirk Kidwell (PhD, The Ohio State University) Interim, 2011-present.
