Biographical Note

Alva Sherwood received his Bachelor of Science from the State Agricultural College of Michigan in 1881. In 1882 he is listed as a farmer in New Troy and as a farmer in Three Oaks, Michigan in 1888.

In 1894, he earned his Doctorate of Veterinary Surgery from the Detroit College of Medicine. In 1895, he is noted in the alumni catalog as a Veterinary Surgeon and Farmer in Three Oaks, Michigan.

The Alumni catalog of 1900 lists Sherwood as Principal of Schools in Three Oaks for two years and as veterinary surgeon, farmer and dealer in live stock.

Alva Sherwood died September 26, 1905.
