Biographical/Historical

Jere Brophy was born in Chicago, Illinois in 1940. He attended Loyola University and earned his Bachelor's degree in Psychology in 1962. He continued his education at the University of Chicago where he earned his Master's degree along with his Ph.D. in Clinical Psychology. Brophy became a professor at Michigan State University September 1, 1976. He worked in the Department of Teacher Education as well as the Department of Education Psychology. Along with teaching, Brophy was also the Co-Director of the Institute for Research on Teaching at MSU He died in 2010.
