The collection consists of university memorabilia (25 items) including copies of The Spartan, an alumni catalogue, a student handbook, The Helot, Xi Gamma Gabber, blue books, football ticket stubs, a student activity handbook, a sophomore prom dance card and a fraternity banquet invitation.

Biographical Note
Douglas C. Carruthers, of Plymouth, Michigan, graduated from Michigan State College (now Michigan State University) in 1931. He majored in Mechanical Engineering and was a member of the American Society of Mechanical Engineers. Additionally, Carruthers was a member of Phi Kappa Tau, Excalibur, Scabbard and Blade, Blue Key, Phi Lambda Tau, and Student Council. During his senior year, he was Student Council President and an Artillery Major in R.O.T.C.
Helen Carruthers, sister of Doug, graduated from MSC in 1933. She participated in the following activities: Chi Omega, "S" Club, A.W.S., Greater Council, Union Board, Vice President of Spartan Women's League, YWCA, W.A.A., Vice President of Sophomore class, Math Club, and Union Opera.
