The Richard W. Jones collection includes a thesis for his Michigan State College B.S. degree thesis "Stress Analysis, Steel Fire Tower," 1941, a Graveraet High School senior banquet program with signatures and picture of Jones, 1937, and plastic stencil and triangle for drafting as well as a small metal map measurer.

Biographical Note

Richard Wilson Jones was born on March 25, 1919 in Fort Sill Oklahoma to Leland and Nora Jones. He grew up in Michigan and graduated from Michigan State University with a B.S. degree in civil engineering in 1941. He served in World War II and the Korea War. As a structural steel engineer he worked for the Mississippi Valley Structural Steel Company, Amercel Structures, the Planet Corporation and General Motors.
