Scope and Contents

This collection contains the scrapbook and other documents of Clare L. Burton, who entered M.A.C in 1913 and graduated in 1917, then served in the military. This collection includes: "The Record" (July 1942, Burton can be found in the military graduates list in 1917); an MAC scrapbook (1913-1917) with classmate autographs, sports (especially football) news clippings, 1917-1918 Winter Courses in Agriculture bulletin, school chants, social events calendar, images of campus buildings, photographs from "hikes and outings"; "War Service Roster of the Michigan Agricultural College" (March 15, 1918); 5 issues of "The Holcad" (March 20, 1917; May 29, 1917; April 15, 1918; April 22, 1918; April 29, 1918)

Biographical Note

Clare L. Burton (1894-1973) graduated from the Michigan Agricultural College in 1917 with a B.S. in Agriculture (1917 Wolverine). He was a member of the Phylean and Barry County clubs, and was also a part of scrub football. He was from St. Johns, Michigan and in 1931 he was employed as a County Agent.
