Biographical/Historical
The Department of Special Courses and Conferences was created in 1948 under Continuing Education. Its existence may have occurred sporadically as it was not always listed in the University Directory. In 1960 it was called Special Programs. Records from this era can be found in UA 3.3.13
It existed again from 1971-1979 and administered different student services such as handicapper, Upward Bound and the Office of Supportive Services.
After 1979 its programs and services were administered by other departments.
