Historical Note
MSU Safe Place is a program that addresses relationship violence and stalking. They serve students, faculty, staff, their spouses/partners and non-affiliated members in the Greater Lansing Area by providing advocacy, emergency shelter, counseling, support groups, safety planning, information and referrals to survivors of violence and their minor children. Additionally, they work to increase awareness about relationship violence and stalking through community education and outreach efforts.
From 1994 to June 2012, MSU Safe Place reported to the Director of Residence Life. The director at that time was Paul Goldblatt. From 2012 to the present they report to the Division of Student Affairs, directly to the Vice President Dr. Denise Maybank.
