Historical Note

In November 1968, the Michigan State University Academic Council directed the Committee on Committees to create an ad hoc committee on Student Participation in Academic Government "to study the matter of student participation in the academic government of the University, notably with respect to the question of the freedom of units of the University to determine whether or not student members will be given the right to vote."
