Biographical/Historical
The Michigan Muck Farmers' Association was created to work in connection with the Soils Department at Michigan State College (now Michigan State University). The group helped in collecting information regarding the handling of muck soils and crops adapted to them, in the securing of any other information regarding the profitable utilization of muck lands, and in formulating plans for the economical distribution of muck soil crops. Any resident of Michigan interested in muck farming was entitled to membership into this association for one year upon the payment of $1.00 dues.
