The collection consists of documents relating to the Buck 'N Bear Hunting Club of Mt. Pleasant, Michigan of which Julius Cord was a member. The materials include correspondence, membership lists, by-laws information, building blue prints, and maps of their land.

Biographical Note

Julius D. Cord of Okemos, Michigan was born August 12, 1925 in Leavenworth, Kansas to Edward and Anna Cord. Cord was a District Sales Manager for Stran-Steel Division of National Steel. Upon retirement he owned Cord Marketing. Cord was a Korean War Veteran, a member of St. Martha's Church, the Walnut Hills Country Club, and Power Squadron. Cord loved bowling, golfing, fishing, hunting, sailing and playing cards. He was the author of two books "Lickskillet: The Story of a Kansas Boy Growing Up in the Thirties," and "Lickskillet Revisited."

Cord died August 12, 2013. He was survived by his wife Betty of Okemos, Michigan and sister, Rose Lovell of Leavenworth, numerous nieces, nephews and great and great-great nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his brothers, Clark and George and sisters, Dixie Forbes and June Franklin.
