Charles D. Staton collection
Scope and Contents
This collection contains the digitized versions of two dvds which were created from home movies filmed by Charles Staton in 1965 or 1966. The footage shows a dormitory cafeteria, possibly Wonders Hall or Wilson Hall, and includes scenes of food preparation, a serving line, students eating, workers clearing tables and washing dishes. The second dvd shows footage of football players eating in the cafeteria with some additional footage of a cafeteria line and a server.

Biographical/Historical
Charles D. Staton graduated from Michigan State University in 1962 with a B.A. in hotel management. He worked as a student personnel supervisor and snackshop manager in Wilson Hall at Michigan State University in 1965. The next year he was the food production supervisor in Wonders Hall. He became the food service manager in Holmes Hall in 1967. He was the residence hall manager of Snyder-Phillips Hall later in his career. He retired in 1997 after 32 years. Staton passed away in 1999.
