Biographical/Historical
Nancy Carlson was born on October 7, 1939. She received a B.S. degree from the University of Wisconsin-Madison in physical medicine in 1961, an MA degree from MSU in special education in 1970 and a Ph.D from MSU in education, cognate and communication strategies in 1974. From 1974 to 1981 she was an associate and assistant professor in the Family and Child Ecology Department at MSU and from 1974-1981 assistant director of the Institute for Family and Child Study at MSU. She went on to have positions at the University of Chicago. Nancy Carlson passed away on October 10, 2016.
