Historical Note
The Center for Gender in Global Context, a thematic center in International Studies and Programs (ISP), was created in January 2007. It was created by combining the Women’s Studies program which at the time was called the Program in Women, Gender, and Social Justice, (housed in College of Arts and Letters) with Women in International Development (WID) in ISP. WID was a Title VI Department of Education funded center. By combining the two, we married research, teaching, and service/outreach for Women’s and Gender Studies on the MSU campus.
