Biographical Note

Edward Arthur Martin Kluck was born August 21, 1921 to Walter and Frieda (Zorn) Kluck. He was a lifelong resident of the Kluck homestead on Van Wormer in Thomas Township, Saginaw County, Michigan. Kluck attended Michigan State College (now Michigan State University) circa 1938 to 1940. Kluck served in the U.S. Navy during World War II. Because he was a farmer, his service was deferred until the end of the war. He was stationed in Guam.

Kluck first partnered with his father in dairy farming, before becoming a co-owner of Kluck Nursery, Inc., with his brother, Gerald. Kluck married Ruth Nuechterlein (October 6, 1921-December 13, 1989) on June 15, 1946. They had four children, Marilyn, Elaine, Robert, and Cherie.
