Scope and Contents

The Wilson B. Paul papers consist of an essay about music at Michigan State University, a short essay on the History of the Lecture-Concert Series, a program from the dedication of the MSU’s Center for the Performing Arts (Wharton Center), and a more extensive history of the Lecture-Concert Series from 1912 until 1956. The text includes reviews of the shows as well as photocopied reproductions of photographs and advertisements.

Biographical Note

Wilson B. Paul was a Professor and Head of Speech in the Drama and Radio Education Department from 1947 to 1955. He was also director of the Lecture-Concert Series from 1955 to 1970 and then Arts and Letters Consultant to the Dean from 1971 to 1975. He became a Professor Emeritus in 1976.
