Scope and Contents
The records include reports on the department by the Committee on the Future of Department of Mathematics, lecture notes, graduate school information pamphlet, and a statistical data booklet by one of the department professors. Also included are department directories for 1943-1967, department review information for 1974, historical material about the math library with biographical information about Berle Reiter math librarian, and J. S. Frame articles and class materials.
Annual Reports for 1876 – 1935 are contained in the State Board Report. Reports for 1872 and 1953 – 1969 are stored separately.

Historical Note
The Department of Mathematics and Civil Engineering began in the early years of the college. By 1871, the department split and the Department of Mathematics was created.
