Historical Note

Formed in 1972 as the All University Committee on Animal Use and Care, the committee is now known as the Institutional Animal Care and Use Committee (IACUC). The IACUC is part of the Animal Care Program (with University Laboratory Animal Resources). The committee reviews, approves, and oversees all Michigan State University programs involving the care and use of animals to ensure compliance with standards and regulatory requirements.
