Historical Note

The Office of the Vice President for Governmental Affairs role is to work with state, federal and local policy makers to ensure that funding and policy initiatives reflect the needs of our university. The Vice President for Governmental Affairs is appointed by the Board upon the recommendation of the President. The Vice President is the principal liaison officer and official contact between the University or any of its component parts and the State Legislature for all presentations made to the Legislature and is responsible for the administration of personnel and employee relations policies and procedures related to the clerical, technical, administrative, and professional personnel who are not Board appointed.
