Scope and Contents

Records of the department consist of sixteen folders containing brochures, newsletters, APP & R documents, bylaws, program books, a proposal to the National Science Foundation for a Computer Development Plan and a Supplement to the plan. Annual Reports for 1967–1969 and Serials (#203, Communication Outlook) are stored separately.

Historical Note

The first computer programming science students were enrolled in Fall 1966 with the first degree awarded in 1968. The Department of Computer Science was formally established in December 1968 in the College of Engineering. Circa 1999, the name was changed to Department of Computer Science and Engineering (CSE).
