The Robert E. Sharer collection contains a variety of publications related to adult education and continuing education. Sharer helped to compile these and also wrote a few of the articles himself.

Biographical Note
Robert E. Sharer was born March 4, 1900 in Toledo, Ohio. He joined the staff of the Michigan State College (now Michigan State University) Continuing Education Service as an associate professor in 1952. In 1958 he was promoted to Assistant Director of the Liberal Arts Education for Adults Program in the College of Science & Arts and in 1963 promotion to Director of Evening College was achieved. Sharer retired from his position at Michigan State in 1968. He died on July 7, 1984.
