Scope and Contents

The scrapbook contains photographs and articles about Michigan Agricultural College’s varsity football squad from 1911 to 1915. There are numerous photographs and articles about MAC’s 24-0 victory over the University of Michigan in 1915 as well as articles featuring Jerry DaPrato. There are also many photographs of other athletic teams, including the basketball squad, baseball team and track and field team. Also included are several programs from football banquets. In addition to the sports memorabilia, there are various photographs of campus life and students, including photographs of the Engineering building and Wells Hall burning in 1916. There are also several photographs of military parades and a ribbon from the 1912 National Progressive Convention.

Biographical Note

Neno Joseph “Jerry” DaPrato attended Michigan Agricultural College as a special student in agriculture from 1912-1915. He was from Iron Mountain, Michigan. He played football in 1912, 1914 and 1915. In 1915 he was All-American. In addition, he played basketball in 1915.
