The Non-Academic Women's Advisory Committee to the Executive Vice President and the Vice President for Business and Finance was formed in November 1975. Its predecessor was the Women’s Advisory Council, which was split into three groups: the Student Advisory Committee to the Vice President for Student Affairs, the Women’s Advisory Committee to the Provost, and the Non-Academic Women's Advisory Committee to the Executive Vice President and the Vice President for Business and Finance. The charge of the Non-Academic Women’s Advisory Committee was to “recommend policies, programs, and procedures which will enhance the status of women employed by MSU and ensure their full freedom of opportunity in employment; […] address immediate concerns of non-academic women,” and liaise between non-academic women employees and administration.
