Content Description

The Frederick G. Alexander papers contain an album of family photographs from the Faculty Village with a few images of the Spartan Nursery school. Also included is U.S. AID MSU (Michigan State University) Seminar in Communication material and two photographs, the book "Coach's Illustrated Guide to Championship Wresting" by Lt. Frank S. Kapral. Kapral is an MSU alum and wrote a long inscription to Alexander in the book. The book also includes a letter giving the book which is dedicated to Biggie Munn. There is also a reminiscence about his life as a Christian Scientist. There are also a few photographs of Frederick and Bernice "B" Alexander.

Biographical / Historical

Frederick G. Alexander was born in Kenosha, Wisconsin and received his BA from Carroll College, and a MS and PhD from the University of Wisconsin. He was an assistant professor at North Central College and then came to Michigan State University (MSU) in 1949 as an instructor in the speech department. He became an assistant professor in 1956 and associate professor in 1959. From 1959 to 1967 he was the assistant director of the Evening College. Frederick Alexander was Distinguished Faculty Member of the Year in 1956. Alexander left MSU in 1968 and became a headmaster and then a faculty member at Ball State.
