Historical Note
The Public Humanities Collaborative (PHC) at Michigan State University started in 2006 as assist faculty, students, and community members to develop partnerships, enhance public understanding of the importance of the arts and humanities. The PHC quickly grew to include over 500 faculty and students in the creative and performing arts, humanities, social sciences, medicine and life sciences, and communication arts and sciences. It was directed by Professor David Cooper of the Writing, Rhetoric, and American Cultures (WRAC) Department.
