Biographical Note

Philip A. Korth received his B.A. (1961), M.A. (1965) and Ph.D. (1967) from the University of Minnesota. In 1967, he was hired by the Department of American Thought and Language at Michigan State University. Korth also taught at the University of Minnesota, Saginaw Valley State University, Northwest University, and Xi'an, People's Republic of China (1984-1985). He taught American History, American Literature, Modern English Literature, Composition, Humanities, and American Studies.

Korth collected oral histories and reports of strikes by auto parts workers in Toledo, Ohio, and Minneapolis, Minnesota in the mid-1930s. Based on this research, he wrote I remember like today : the Auto-Lite strike of 1934, and Minneapolis teamsters strike of 1934.
