Scope and Contents
The Sylvia B. Kruger Haggadah collection contains eighty published Passover haggadot (singular: haggadah), mimeographed or photocopied haggadot intended for local use, and facsimiles of early printed haggadot. These haggadot were produced in the United States, Israel, and the UK (London), between the 1920's and 2000's. They reflect Orthodox, Conservative, Reform, and Reconstructionist Judaism, Humanistic Judaism, feminism, the struggle for Soviet Jewry, the civil rights movement in the US, interfaith concerns, and other influences on and changes in Jewish life in the Twentieth Century. The collection includes haggadot re-written for children.
