Scope and Contents

From the Series:

These are the files containing information about an individual author, artist, political figure, or musician that Mr. Holtzman used in the building of his collections. They encompass all aspects of information about the featured person, including newspaper articles, magazine articles, events they attended, publication announcements, flyers, posters, bibliographies, criticisms, essays, photographs and biographies. They are organized by the last name of the person. Mr. Holtzman’s personal notes and checklists on authors/works, which he used in the creation of his Checklist are also included here under the authors. Holtzman’s personal notes and checklists, which didn’t pertain to one specific author, as well as his personal bibliographies on Arabic literature, are included in his personal series, Series V, under bibliographies. Notes: Files organized alphabetically by last name. All periodicals in each individual’s file are in chronological order. Catalogues and bibliographies featuring works by more than one author are in this series in the Miscellaneous Folder. Note: Institute for the Translation of Hebrew Literature. Different categories: Titles printed on white paper: Special Institute project-translation and full promotion through the Institute. Titles printed on colored paper: The Institute acts as agent on behalf of the translation copyright owners. Note: All posters located in Map Case, MSS 211 Holtzman.
