Arbitration statement by Jim Cash and Jack Epps, Jr., for the motion picture Dick Tracy, March 1, 1990. Since other writers were involved in the final production re-write and Mr. Beatty believed that he deserved credit for his editorial work, we had to go to a WGA Credit Arbitration to retain our sole writing credit which we were given. A “Written by” credit is the highest credit a writer can receive on the picture and the final credits read: “Written by Jim Cash and Jack Epps, Jr.” Not only does this statement detail our work, but it also gives a history of the project and thought it would be valuable to the collection.
