Scope and Contents

Script, 51 pp., for television series, episode 80B by George Callahan, Final Master Script March 8, 1953. Hand written directional notes throughout, original front and back covers.; The series drew on a long list of writers over its long life (1950-1956). George Callahan had a number of other television series to his credit, as well as writing credits for several Charlie Chan and Shadow films of the 1940s. This is an interesting copy, with the ownership signature and very extensive annotations of Larry Lund, the script supervisor, as well as an occasional writer for the series. Lund has covered each page of text, as well as much of the facing verso, with notes on staging, camera angles, and endless details about the actual shooting of the script.; CISCO KID. (1953) Script, 40 pp., for television series, episode 90B by Ben Markson, Final Master Script May 27, 1953. This was the script supervisor’s copy and contains hand written notes and notes in graphs on every page. There is some water staining on pages, front and back covers present, front cover loose, complete. Very rare item. The series ran between 1950 and 1956. The stories involved the Cisco Kid and his English-mangling sidekick Pancho traveling through the old west in the grand tradition of the Lone Ranger, righting wrongs and fighting injustice wherever they find it. Stars of the series, who had also played in the film series, were Duncan Renaldo and Leo Carrillo.

FIRST TELEVISION SHOW WITH LATINO THEME [CISCO KID]

This collection contains a number of examples from films featuring the character of the Cisco Kid. The Kid made it to the television screen in 1950 and flourished there, only going off the air after seven successful years. Clearly, this was the first television show with a Latino theme. Scripts from this very early part of television history are VERY rare, and we are especially pleased to be offer two scripts from this trailblazing show, both with extensive MS annotations by people who worked on the show.
