Farewell to Poston, January 19, 1945
Item — Folder: 1
Scope and Contents
Photograph of two women shaking hands and bowing to each other next to a car at Poston Relocation Center. A small boy stands behind them looking at the car.
The text on the back of the photograph reads "Farewell to Poston. On the day the Nittas departed from Poston, there were many cheerful good-byes. Here, an older woman bows ceremoniously, in the customary Oriental fashion. Mary Nitta, wife of Hitoshi, bows only slightly -- enough to defer to the older generation, but more in keeping with the simpler forms of her American up-bringing."
