Photograph of a group of men, mostly white, dressed in work clothes and standing around two men, one a Japanese-American also dressed in work clothes and one wearing a military uniform.

The text on the back of the photograph reads "San Francisco -- Takeo Miyama, 37, Japanese-American ignition expert, right, returned to his job with the S.F. Municipal Railroad in the face of a threatened walkout by 100 A.F. of L. mechanics over his hiring. He was backed by Harold Stone, chief radio technician, hero of the aircraft carrier Franklin, (facing camera) who told him 'Good luck and I hope you get your chance to work here. I think you have the right to.'"
