Item — Folder: 1
Scope and Contents
Photograph of a line of people - some black, some white - waiting outside the ticket window at the Florida Theatre in St. Petersburg, Florida. The sign above the theater advertises Olivia de Havilland's "Light in the Piazza."
A newspaper clipping attached to the back of the photograph states "An illness in the community is what a National Association for the Advancement of Colored People says current stand-ins at theatres indicate. Negroes have been seeking, and are being denied, admittance to theatres."
