Kaprow and Volland collection, 1963-2009
Scope and Contents
This is a collection of flamenco research materials,GLS materials, and correspondence that belonged to Anita Volland and Mimi Kaprow. The majority of this collection belonged to Volland, though she took some of Kaprow's papers upon her death, and these materials are included in the collection. Also in the collection are a bibliography of the materials made by a GLS member and both Volland and Kaprow's obituaries.

Biographical / Historical
Anita Volland was a professor of anthropology at Wagner College. She recieved her doctorate from the University of Pennsylvania in 1975. Throughout her career, Volland studied hula, flamenco, and gypsy culture. She was president of the Gypsy Lore Society from 1992-1993. Volland died in 2009 of illness.
