Scope and Contents
Items in this collection offer a glimpse into Victor Sorell's professional engagement as an art historian and critic. Included are collected writings on Chicano art and a few of Sorell's writings including catalogs for exhibits he had curated, co-curated or otherwise helped to bring to fruition, including "Carlos Cortéz Koyokuikatl: Soapbox Artist & Poet" and an exhibit of John Pitman Weber's work. Other items of note include the "Guide to Chicago Murals" for which he served as editor, and publications for which he provided commentaries, such as "The Barrio Murals" and the Antonio Pérez exhibit catalog.
