Scope and Contents
The LGBT Activists and Their Lives Oral History Project consist of approximately 1 linear feet of material from 2004. The collection includes video interviews and transcripts conducted by students from Eastern Michigan University under the supervision of Dr. Margot I. Duley.
Documents were kept in the order they were originally arranged, including documentation related to the project. Interview summaries and transcripts were kept in alphabetical order. Video interviews in CDs will be transferred to a digital format for user access.

The collection is open and available for research in the MSU Libraries Special Collections' reading room. Researchers are limited to accessing three folders at a time for security.

Biographical / Historical
Susan Horowitz was a co-founder of Tower Press, a New York based printing and graphics company. She also founded Pride Publishing, Inc, the publisher for the New York City Pride Guide. Horowitz served as a board member of the National Gay and Lesbian Task Force from 1983-84 and from 1993-1995. Horowitz is the co-owner of Pride Source Media Group, publisher of the LGBTQ newspaper Between the Lines where Horowitz served as Editor-in-Chief from 1993-2021.
