This collection of calendar art consists of materials acquired as a purchase by the MSU Libraries or items separated from the papers of Juana and Jesse Gonzales, Julio Cesar Guerrero and Pedro and Diana Rivera. The items in the collection are as early as 1972 and the bulk in the first decade of 2000.

Mexico, City, Mexico: Landin Calendarios, 2015, one page. 28x68 cm., color. 2016 calendar for Tortilleria El Milagro de Texas, Inc., Austin, TX. Reproduction of Mexican painter Jesus Helguera's La Mujer Dormida depicting Mixtli, daughter of Tizoc who took her own life thinking she would not be wed to her beloved Popoca. He returns from battle, takes her body to the mountains hoping the snow would awaken her to be reunited alive. Mixtli and Popoca were covered by snow and became known as the dominant Iztaccihuatl Volcano overseeing the Valley of Anahauc in Mexico. Bottom has small 13 page monthly tear off (December thru December) that include Catholic feast names, front and factoids on verso.
