Underground press and alternative newspaper collection
Scope and Contents
This archive contains underground and alternative newspapers, many of which belong to the Underground Press Syndicate, published from 1962 to 1994. These newspapers are mostly from the United States, but also originate in Canada, England, Denmark, and other European countries. They all represent "radical" and/or alternative views, with subjects including religion, war, music, and drugs.

Biographical / Historical
Post World War II in the Asian, the American and the Western European context, the term underground press has most frequently been employed to refer to the independently published and distributed underground papers associated with the counterculture of the late 1960s and early 1970s.
