Biographical / Historical
Idali Feliciano is a Puerto Rican educator and activist in Southeastern Michigan with interests in women’s issues, in particular Latina themes. The documents in this collection reflect a year in which Michigan Latinas were focusing attention on women in their communities. The 1975 conference was a fundamental move to organize, educate, and promote aspects of Latina identity, which included their role outside the home as empowered and educated students, homemakers, and professionals. Also included is a list of materials donated, catalogued and separated/added to Special Collections Latino collection (SPLAT).
