Biographical / Historical
Saul Wellman (1913-2003) was a political activist committed to "leveling the playing field." After serving in the Spanish Civil War and World War II, Wellman was active in the United States as a member of the Communist Party. He was arrested and indicted under the Smith Act in the 1950s.
