Norman Miller was involved in the Ford Foundation’s Tanzanian Resettlement Research Project from 1964-1967. Miller and Rodger Yeager co-authored several books and articles together. The Resettlement project was a gigantic undertaking by the new Tanzanian government, attempting under President Julius Nyerere to relocate hundreds of thousands of peasant farmers. Miller also directed and later co-directed with Stuart Kingma, MD, a long term project on HIV-AIDS prevention in Africa. The project received major funding from the United Nations, Ford, and USDoD.
