Biographical / Historical

This collection of materials was organized by Enrique "Henry" Martinez, Chapter Commander for the American GI Forum [Sgt.] Tomas V. Martinez Chapter, Bay City Michigan. Enrique was the brother of Sgt. Martinez who was the first soldier from Bay County Michigan to die in action during the Vietnam War. he items in the collection were collected by Enrique between 1966 when Tomas was killed in action through 2003 when he actively quit collecting. Enrique died was born in 1943 and died in 2007. Enrique led to establish the local chapter named American GI Forum. Tomas V. Martinez Chapter.
