Scope and Contents

The collection contains photographs of nude and partially clothed male models. Of particular interest is a floral necktie and 12 color photographs of model, Devin, in various nude poses with the necktie. The collection also includes a blank photography release form. Most of the images are single full-body photographs, but a few include male on male sexual activity or other men in the image.

Biographical / Historical

Reed Massengill (born 1961 Knoxville, TN) is a photographer and writer whose 1994 Portrait of a Racist was nominated for the Pulitzer Prize.

As a collector, curator and editor, he has produced a number of photographic anthologies and monographs, including Uncovered: Rare Vintage Male Nudes.
