The Donald Yates collection of Rodolfo Walsh correspondence, writings, and other materials contain published and typed writings by Walsh, photographs, and other materials primarily sent to Yates by Walsh. The topics of correspondence range from discussing mystery writing to Walsh's first-hand experience with Revolucion Libertadora's coup of 1955 which overthrew Juan Peron's government and the growing violence around him.

Biographical / Historical
Donald A. Yates (1930-2017) was a graduate student at the University of Michigan researching for his dissertation topic on Argentinian detective stories when he discovered a 10-story anthology edited and published by Rodolfo J. Walsh (1927-1977). Yates wrote to Walsh, who had established himself as a mystery writer for circulating magazines and journalist, and befriended him.
