Biographical / Historical

Beneva Williams Nyamu grew up in Houston, Texas. When she was 14 years old, she was involved in a lawsuit to integrate Houston schools. As an adult, she became an Anti-Apartheid activist within the United States and South Africa, serving as the coordinator of the Southern African Task Force in Houston in the 1980s.
