Nigerian Civil War photograph collection
Scope and Contents
The Nigerian Civil War photo postcard album consists of 21 photographs previously mounted in a handcrafted photoalbum. According to the dealer description, most items appear to be souvenir photographs produced for the inspiration of the troops. Images depict military officials, a funeral, soldiers holding guns, and soldiers in the field and may specifically be identified as part of "Operation Poker" or "Operation Wipe Out." Some photographs are annotated in pen. The photo album has African pastepaper on the front cover and an image of a Samurai on the back cover.
