Celebrate people's history posters collection
Scope and Contents
The Celebrate People's History poster series at MSU Libraries consists of a small sampling of the larger poster series. Topics covered include trans rights, Chicano rights and history, the labor movement, art history, women's history, and anarchist history. Most of the historical topics are from the United States and Mexico, but some also include England. As of November 2022, the MSU collection consists of 20 posters from the larger series.
Posters are cataloged individually in the MSU Libraries catalog.

Biographical / Historical
The Celebrate People's History poster series is distributed by the artist collective, JustSeeds in 1998 and is curated by Josh MacPhee. According to their website, the posters "are rooted in the do-it-yourself tradition of mass-produced and distributed political propaganda, but detourned to embody principles of democracy, inclusion, and group participation in the writing and interpretation of history." As of November 2022, the series consists of 171 posters and will likely grow to include more.
